RESERVING YOUR SESSION
Sessions book up about 4-6 weeks in advance, so it is important to reserve your session date as soon as possible. Once your session date is reserved, you will be requested to complete and submit a portrait agreement and model release. The session fee payment is due within five days of session date confirmation and is non-refundable.
We will also begin planning your session together, discussing location, clothing, etc. approximately one week prior to your scheduled session, you will be emailed a confirmation of our appointment. please let me know in advance if email is not a good communication option for you.
Please note that all christmas sessions must be booked and shot prior to November 15th.
If your child is not feeling well, please call or email to reschedule as soon as it is apparent that your child is too ill for the session. It’s okay if your child has a runny nose, but please clean his/her face prior to arriving and have plenty of tissues on hand. Finally, if your child has a bump or bruise, don’t worry—I will retouch during the editing process. If you have concerns with regard to illness or are in doubt, please call.
Overcast skies can be ideal for outdoor sessions and will not keep us from shooting. But because I shoot in natural light, bad weather may keep us from a successful session. If the weather is rainy or dark I will call you the morning of the shoot to reschedule.
When we meet, I’ll take time to get to know you and your children. Please feel free to further discuss any ideas or visions you might have for your session at this time. I might also take some time to scout out areas with good lighting. my goal is that the session is casual and comfortable. I want you to walk away thinking—wow, that was fun.
I want the kids to have a good time and be themselves. I love to capture children they way they are, naturally. I don’t believe in saying cheese, or big forced smiles. I will always ask for your help when i need it. with little ones, I may need to take them aside for a while; please give us some space—but never be too far away. this way they can relax and feel less pressure to perform.
I shoot with only natural light, so time of day and location are important. early morning or the hour or two before sunset are the best times. The shoot will take between one and three hours—usually around three, so be prepared. Bring children well rested and healthy. and don’t forget snacks for the kids!!
YOUR GALLERY AND ORDERING
Your proofs will be finished within two weeks of your shoot. They will be a combination of color, black and white and toned photographs. When editing, I make creative choices on how to process each image. The proofs are fully edited photographs and I take care in making each portrait a work of art. When your photographs are ready I will notify you via email. We will plan an in-home proofing session and/or you can recieve a password-protected online gallery and slideshow [live for 14 days], to view and share with family and friends. All digital proofs shown are ‘touched up’. Any additional retouching requests, beyond what has already been done and presented in your on-line gallery will be charged a fee of $100 per hour [$50 minimum].
If your gallery expires, you may request an extension for $50 per week, for a maximum of two weeks. in-person proofing sessions are available, but request must be made in advance. All print orders must be paid in full within two weeks of order placement. Orders will not be printed until payment is received. Your payment in the form of cash, check, money order, paypal or credit card is accepted. Orders must be paid in full within 3 days of order placement.
